Bidford-on-Avon sits on the River Avon in south Warwickshire, between Stratford-upon-Avon and Evesham. The old village centre has stone and brick cottages around the High Street and church, while most housing is inter-war, post-war and modern along Victoria Road, Waterloo Road and towards Broom and Wixford. Nearby villages include Broom, Welford-on-Avon, Salford Priors, Cleeve Prior and Honeybourne. RCR Connections Ltd is a plastering and rendering company based in Solihull, and we take on plastering work across Bidford and these villages.
Plastering services
- Skimming walls and ceilings.
- Re-plastering after damp or when plaster has blown.
- Ceilings: over-boarding cracked or Artex ceilings.
- Plasterboard for extensions, loft rooms and garage conversions.
- Patch repairs after rewires or heating work.
Cottages and older village homes
Many cottages around the High Street and riverside are solid-walled, sometimes with lime plaster. Hard gypsum on damp solid walls can fail again quickly, so the cause of any damp should be fixed first. We’ll check what’s there and say honestly if a lime specialist is needed. We protect original features where you want to keep them.
Modern estates and extensions
Newer homes towards Waterloo Road and the edges of the village are mainly plasterboard construction. Jobs here tend to be boarding and skimming extensions, garage conversions and loft rooms, or repairing dents and joint cracks. Once your builder has finished insulation and first fix and building control has inspected, we can board and skim to match the rest of the house.
Villages around Bidford
We cover Broom, Welford-on-Avon, Barton, Salford Priors, Cleeve Prior, Harvington, Honeybourne and Wixford. Several of these sit in conservation areas under Stratford-on-Avon District Council, so check before external changes.
Getting the room ready
Clear the room or move furniture to the middle, take down curtains and pictures, and have an electrician loosen sockets and switches. Let us know about parking — the High Street and riverside roads can be narrow.
How a job works
- WhatsApp photos and rough room sizes to 07453 614095.
- We send a guide price and visit if needed.
- We protect your home, plaster and tidy up.
- You get drying and mist coat advice.
Drying and painting
A skim needs a few days to dry. Keep the room ventilated and use a mist coat of watered-down contract matt first.
