Wellesbourne is one of the larger villages in south Warwickshire, east of Stratford-upon-Avon on the River Dene. Its older core around Chestnut Square, Warwick Road and the church of St Peter has brick and timber-framed cottages, while most of the village is post-war and modern housing, with newer developments added in recent years towards the airfield and the Kineton Road. RCR Connections Ltd is a plastering and rendering company based in Solihull, and we take on plastering work in Wellesbourne, Charlecote, Loxley, Walton, Moreton Morrell and Hampton Lucy.

Post-war and modern homes
Most Wellesbourne homes were built from the 1960s onwards. On the older estates, typical jobs are skimming tired walls, over-boarding Artex or cracked ceilings, and boarding out extensions and garage conversions. On newer homes, it’s often fixing cracks along plasterboard joints and nail pops once the house has settled. If your new home is still under a builder’s warranty, check with them first, as they may cover it.
Artex and textured ceilings
Textured ceilings applied before 2000 may contain asbestos. Don’t sand or scrape them until they’ve been tested. In most cases we can over-board and skim, which seals the old coating in place and avoids the mess of removal.
Older cottages and the conservation area
Wellesbourne has a conservation area around its historic centre, and there are listed buildings in the village and at nearby Charlecote. Stratford-on-Avon District Council handles planning and listed building consent. Older solid-walled cottages often need breathable finishes. We’ll be honest about whether a job suits us or needs a lime specialist.
Getting the room ready
- Clear the room or move furniture to the middle.
- Take down curtains, pictures and shelves.
- Have an electrician loosen sockets and switches.
- Let us know where we can park and mix plaster.
How a job works
- WhatsApp photos and rough room sizes to 07453 614095.
- We send a guide price and visit if needed.
- We protect your home, plaster and clear up.
- You get advice on drying and mist coats.
Drying and painting
Allow a few days for a skim to dry, longer for thicker coats. Keep rooms ventilated and use a mist coat as the first coat.
Rendering in Wellesbourne
We also apply sand and cement, silicone, K-Rend/monocouche and insulated render (EWI). See our Stratford-upon-Avon rendering page, our K-Rend and monocouche page and rendering in Solihull.
Garage conversions and extensions
Many Wellesbourne homes have had a garage converted or a rear extension added. Once the builder has finished insulation and first-fix electrics, and building control has inspected, we board and skim the walls and ceilings so the new room matches the rest of the house. If the builder has already boarded, we can just do the skim.
