Worcester is a cathedral city on the River Severn with a wide range of homes: medieval and Georgian buildings around the cathedral, Friar Street and Foregate Street; Victorian terraces in Barbourne, Arboretum, St John’s and Lowesmoor; inter-war semis in Ronkswood, Battenhall and Claines; and post-war and modern estates in Warndon, Warndon Villages, St Peter’s and Lower Wick. RCR Connections Ltd is a plastering and rendering company based in Solihull, and we take on plastering work across Worcester and nearby areas.

Plastering services

Victorian terraces

Worcester’s Victorian terraces are solid-walled and often still have lime plaster and lath-and-plaster ceilings. Blown plaster on lower walls, cracked ceilings and many years of patching are common. We’ll check the walls and explain whether targeted repairs and a skim will do, or whether a section needs stripping back. If there’s damp, the cause should be fixed first.

After flooding

Homes near the Severn and Teme, particularly in St John’s and around Hylton Road, have had flood problems in some years. After flooding, wet plaster usually needs removing once the walls have been dried out properly, which can take weeks. Re-plastering too early traps moisture. If you’re dealing with an insurance claim, we can provide a written quote, and we’ll follow any drying advice your insurer’s specialist gives.

Historic centre

Much of central Worcester is a conservation area with many listed buildings. Worcester City Council handles planning and listed building consent. Older buildings usually need breathable lime finishes, and we’ll be honest if that’s specialist work.

Newer homes

On estates like Warndon Villages and St Peter’s, common jobs are fixing plasterboard cracks and nail pops, and boarding and skimming extensions and garage conversions.

How a job works

  1. WhatsApp photos and rough room sizes to 07453 614095.
  2. We send a guide price and visit if needed.
  3. We protect floors and furniture, plaster and tidy up.
  4. You get advice on drying and mist coats.

Drying and painting

A skim needs a few days to dry, and backing coats longer. Use a mist coat of watered-down contract matt first.

Rendering in Worcester

We also apply sand and cement, silicone, K-Rend/monocouche and insulated render (EWI). See our K-Rend and monocouche page, rendering in Solihull and our Bromsgrove rendering page.
